TRAVEL
Arriving by Air
You can fly into Denver International Airport (DIA) or Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE), and we’ve included information about both below. If you’re planning on renting a car, we recommend flying into DIA because the drive to Vail is absolutely gorgeous. If you’re not renting a car, you can still fly into Denver and catch a ride with Epic Mountain Express or another ground transportation provider (see Ground Transportation To/From Airport).
DIA (www.flydenver.com)
Vail is located approximately 100 miles west from Denver and about 2 hours from DIA. All major airlines service the DIA daily, including:
United Airlines www.united.com
American Airlines www.aa.com
Delta Airlines www.delta.com
Southwest Airlines www.southwest.com
Frontier Airlines www.frontierairlines.com
Driving Directions from DIA to Vail
Exit the airport on Pena Blvd.
Merge onto I-70 West via the exit on the left.
Continue on I-70 West until you reach Exit 176 – Vail. You have arrived! Between 1.5 to 2 hours to drive.
EGE www.flyvail.com
Conveniently located 35 miles west of Vail, two major carriers provide service to this airport on a seasonal basis:
United Airlines www.united.com
American Airlines www.aa.com
Driving Directions from EGE to Vail
Exit the airport, taking a left on Cooley Mesa Road.
Turn right onto Highway 6 eastbound, and follow it about five miles straight through one roundabout.
At the second roundabout, take your third right (heading north).
Take I-70 East for approximately 30 miles, until you reach Exit 176. You are in Vail! This is the closest airport to Vail.
Ground Transportation To/From DIA and Eagle County Regional Airport
Epic Mountain Express (EME) provides transportation directly to your hotel in Vail from the Denver International Airport. EME is a very professional and reliable shuttle service and a great option for those who do not need a car while visiting Colorado. For shuttle reservations and information, use the link
https://www.epicmountainexpress.com
You may also call 970.754.7433.
This is a shared 12-14 person shuttle
If wanting a private SUV or Shuttle, we highly recommend SnowFlake Transportation. They can do private Shuttles or SUV's from either airport.
Other local options once in Vail include:
High Mountain Taxi And Ride Taxi
Provides service between EGE and Vail.
We do not recommend trying to take a taxi from DIA! This is best within the Vail Valley/Eagle County.
High Mountain Taxi - 800.524.5555
Ride Taxi - 970.949.1111
Car Rentals
All major car rental companies are represented at DIA. Many car rental companies are represented at EGE as well.
Uber is not a common option yet in Vail. Private cars or Rental cars are the most prevalent options. But Uber is becoming more prevalent
ACCOMMODATIONS/LODGING
There are multiple hotels we suggest exploring during your stay and at this time, we do not have a room block at any, so please choose what suits you best.
Four Seasons Vail:
https://www.fourseasons.com/vail/
This is the site of our Reception and the most luxurious option. This hotel is exquisite and in the heart of Vail.
Lodge at Vail
http://www.thevailcollection.com/locations/vail-village/the-lodge-at-vail-a-rockresort/
As our Wedding Ceremony is hosted by Vail Resorts, who owns the Lodge at Vail, you do get a small discount on rooms here. Please note many rooms are owned individually so room decor and updates vary.
Reservation Method:
• Call In Reservations. Please call 855-953-0197 and follow
the prompts to your chosen resort of The Lodge at Vail. Please mention Group Code SVLSSW26 or the Saxon/Stevenson Wedding
Grand Hyatt
https://www.hyatt.com/grand-hyatt/en-US/egegh-grand-hyatt-vail
The Grand Hyatt is a beautiful hotel near the Stevenson residence in West Vail, but it is a 10+ minute walk to Vail Village or a free shuttle ride into town for the Ceremony and Reception.
Highline West Vail
This hotel is in West Vail and will require a rental car to drive to wedding events ( approx 3-5 minutes) or a bus or taxi ride.
If exploring AirBnB's, we recommend booking within Vail or Lionshead Village so you can easily access the hotels and weekend events. The public buses in Vail are great, and being on a bus line guarantees you easy access to all wedding activities!
Houses in West or East Vail will need a car to access the weekend events.
